USEP Bargaining Update: Negotiations Continue

The Union and District Teams for School-Related Personnel (SRP) returned to the bargaining table tonight to continue discussions to improve working conditions for our Teachers and SRP. Unfortunately, due to the state LegislatureÂ’s inability to pass a budget, financial discussions are on hold until sometime in June.

Current issues addressed include additional time for SRP to perform their jobs, clarification to administrators and worksite supervisors as to the effective use of “progressive discipline” for both teachers and SRP, and the District’s intention to expand the number of substances (meds) that can be tested under the current “reasonable suspicion” program.

The Instructional and SRP teams plan to meet again next week to continue negotiations. Stay tuned!
