Tuesday USEP Update – April 14, 2020

USEP Members,

We are now a few weeks into the COVID-19 pandemic and USEP and the Florida Education Association (FEA) wants to know how you are doing. We know that this a very stressful time for all of us. We are continuing to do our best to educate our students, protect our employees and support our own families during this crisis.

You and your colleagues have done amazing work, and everyone is taking notice. Like you, I have watched and read several news reports about how parents have a newfound respect for those of us who work with their children daily. The governor coined this the “Year of the Teacher,” and it turns out he was right! This is “the year of the teacher”, “the year of the SRP” (bus drivers, cafeteria workers, paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians, etc.) and “the year of the parent-teacher!”

We have prepared a short survey to gauge where we are. Please take a moment and complete this important survey. This will help us prepare for concerns.

We want to know how you are doing, how your students are doing and how your work is going. We want to know if there is anything we should be focusing on. We value you and your opinion, so please take a couple of minutes and complete this survey now! The survey will close at 5 p.m. Friday, April 17.

Have a great week!

In solidarity,

Don Peace, President
