Don Peace, Re-elected USEP President!!
On Thursday, April 30th, the Pasco County Division of Elections tabulated votes for the tri-annual election process for the 2020-2023 USEP Officer & Delegate positions. Beginning in early April , USEP members began receiving individual ballots at their homes from the Division of Elections. Members were to cast their ballots and return them via U.S. Mail to the Supervisor of Elections Offices in Dade City. The vote counting was observed by several candidates at that office.
Two candidates, Don Peace, the Incumbent, and Lisa Mazza, an elementary teacher at Wesley Chapel Elementary school, ran for President, with Mr. Peace winning by an almost 10% margin. Cheryl Vinson, the Incumbent and Kenny Blankenship, currently a Social Studies teacher at Land O’Lakes High School, ran for Secretary/Treasurer and Mr. Blankenship won by a very close vote as reflected below. The SRP Vice President Maryann Brini, and Instructional Vice-President, Christine Goddard, were elected by acclamation and did not appear on the ballot. Other races not on the ballot since winners were declared by acclamation were for FEA Instructional & SRP delegates and NEA SRP delegates.
Candidates for President must be USEP members from either the instructional or SRP bargaining units. The Vice Presidents must come from their respective units.
