We are pleased to announce that at the opening session of instructional bargaining, contract language was signed for teacher evaluation. This is the result of tireless efforts of a joint workgroup comprised of teachers, administrators, and both USEP and District leadership that has met to discuss changes to the contract language and the development of the Pasco County Evaluation Guidelines. The move from a yearly Memorandum of Understanding to updating contract language will bring consistency to the process. This will allow for the workgroup to assess evaluation data to inform suggested changes to the guidelines in the years to come.

Both the USEP and the District leadership would like to acknowledge the efforts of the work group for making the settlement of Teacher Evaluation a reality prior to the start of the school year. We look forward to the continuation of negotiations as we move toward closing the bargaining cycle as soon as possible and bringing the tentative agreement to the instructional unit for ratification.
